What felt like days to Gwen, had been no more than an hour in reality. She had been sitting at her desk, fingers hovering over the keyboard while the few people around her tapped away at their keys. Making words so effortlessly appear on their monitor screen. With a heavy, sullen sigh, Gwen slouched in her chair letting her hands slip from off the keyboard and onto her lap. Once again, she was responsible for putting together a small column of information that would be competing with nearly half of the other people in the office space to actually get printed. It was getting old and frustrating and she was about to say screw it and inform the editor that she only wanted to do photographs for the magazine, no writing. But then that would be giving up, wouldn’t it? Something that Gwen was not yet equipped to handle in her line of work.

Pushing her hands against the desk, Gwen backed her rolling chair up enough to comfortably stand. She brushed at the skirt of her dress, straightening the fabric before making her way over to the Keurig tucked away on the other side of the room, closer to the industrial offices for the big name writers of the magazine.

Weaving her way through the crowd of desks and chatty people, she finally found herself to her recently acclaimed life source. With just a few pressed buttons, her hazelnut coffee with extra cream was being made. Gwen turned, leaning back against the coffee table set up and rested her palms on the wooden edges, listening to the brewing of her much needed caffeine. She let her eyes wander, around the office that she’d spent most of her life in now. It wasn’t really what she had imagined, and she had a habit of complaining a lot about it to her friends. But she loved it. She loved the cramped little spaces she had to walk through to reach her own little desk. She liked having her own computer space that she could fill up with whatever she wanted. Sure she would die if she had the chance to get into a big office, but for now, she felt proud for having a spot, even if it was small. Her gaze stretched over the desks, aimlessly watching the working people and busy bodies scurrying around the room.

Take tons of pictures at the festival, they said. She loved how the publisher sent out the least partying person to the largest party in Miami. Gwen would much rather have taken the scenic route and gone up to the cliffs to take pictures of the divers. There were numerous other photographers for the magazine and they had to pick her. Granted, this was an incredible opportunity because Gwen’s name would be in fine print on the cover of their magazine for the first time, and she was thrilled to be able to do something to get her that kind of credibility so soon in her work. But that was only if she could get the coverworthy shot, and she was almost positive that there were a few other photographers from other pieces of publication that were competing for that same shot. She needed a drink…

In the hour that she had been there, Gwen had watched the crowd nearly double in size. The people seemed to be migrating towards the brightly lit stage as it featured an obviously popular band that Gwen was almost positive she’d heard playing from her neighbors stereo. Instead of diving into the mass of bodies and fighting her way to the front row, she had decided to take a step back and find a spot at a nearby bar tent. Brown eyes scanned the crowd, taking everything in. The sun was tucked away behind the trees of the park allowing the last bit of rays to sneak past the trunks and shine across the dancing bodies. Casually, she lifted her camera from her lap and tilted just a bit before snapping a shot. Something simple, definitely not worthy of the cover but good enough for her own personal collection.

Spinning around in the stool, Gwen raised her hand to one of the bartenders and ordered herself a coke. She may want a drink, but she sure as hell didn’t need one. With a heavy sigh she plopped a single elbow against the bar top and nestled her chin into the palm of her hand while she waited.

”Woops. Excuse me.” As per usual, Gwen had her camera practically glued to her face not fully paying attention to the rest of the world, nor the passing people she continuously bumped into. The boardwalk had been her habitat of choice today. It was still quite early in the evening, perhaps just before dinner yet not early enough to still be considered noontime. The light cast from the lowered Sun in the sky perfect for a natural quality shot, especially with the shadows from the various booths and rails of the boardwalk. The magazine that had recently hired her in was requesting some soulful Miami shots and of course the first thing that came to mind was the ocean. But now that Gwen was here, brown eyes following the waves of the blue waters, she really didn’t feel that this was soulful Miami. The woman was still new to the magazine and to bring in something as tedious as an ocean shot for her first real insert in print would be dreadful.

With a soft sigh, lip slightly puckering into a pout, Gwen turned away from the landscape scene and continued her way along the wooden dock, brown boots clunking against the old boards with each step. It was the subtle sound of a distant song that caught her attention. At first she thought someone was just passing by her with their headphones turned up much too loud, but as she continued her pace in the same direction she could hear the melody getting louder. As she neared, she could make out a small group of five or six people gathered around someone that appeared to be playing a guitar. Gwen tilted her head, brown waves falling over her shoulder as she came up a few feet behind one of the viewers. Without thinking, the woman brought her camera back up to her face and began taking various shots of the scene before her. Something that seemed much more like soulful Miami than the ocean.

These two are besties. I’m thinking that they met while they were in college, maybe even the same general classes. She was into the photography/journalism programs which means that he would have to be in something creative to share some of her required courses. I’m thinking some kind of artist. Or they can do photography together! He’s pretty open. I just want him to be really understanding of her faults and stand up to her when she starts dishing out her bossy/bitchiness. Maybe he has a crush on her, that’s up to the player. As of right now she only sees them as friends but you never know with plots. They could twist, which is why I love them so much! xD

Face is open, though I do really love Tyler Posey because he’s amazing and hilarious and he’s got some epic gifs. Name is open. Personality is pretty open but I do see him having a goofy side. If he has a sad history I don’t want it to affect him that much now. Which brings me to his history which is completely open. He can be from wherever you want just as long as he went to Florida International for his education. Basically if you are making a guy character, consider taking him. I’ll be flexible with him.

TAKEN BY TEA

This is Gwen’s brother, Landon. They were born and raised in Monroe, MI and they were really close growing up even if there is an age difference. Donny was basically Gwen’s protector and he always felt very responsible for her. When he turned 18 he signed himself up and shipped of for the military. You can pick which branch. He’s pretty open, but I do want him to come with some baggage. When he returned from overseas, he came back with some pretty intense PTSD. I’m thinking he may have even tried to commit suicide, but this is completely up the player. Either way, when he returned, Gwen was in Miami already and she feels like crap for not being there for him.

I want him to come to Miami, whether he is visiting or here to stay and I want that kind of tense relationship between the two of them. Gwen doesn’t really know how to talk to him after what happened, and he is kind of off in his own little world. I’m thinking that he is now bordering on overprotective which could be interesting for future lovers with Gwen. xD He’s just really a complex character and I think someone could have some real fun with developing him.

Face is open, run it by me first please. Personality is open, he just has to have PTSD. History is in Gwen’s app. It’s short, don’t worry. First name is open, last name has to be Sharpe. And that’s it!

Yes I am aware that he played her dad in a show. I did this because they have adorable gifs and I love the faces together. So just get past that and you will see their awesomeness! If it is turning you away, I’m also open to other faces so don’t go yet!

This was her creative writing professor from her first year of her college program. Initially she was only going for photography but he opened her eyes to a whole world of literature and she switched her major to creative writing and kept photography as he minor. She instantly had a connection with him because they had a lot in common and really would just sit for hours after class talking. At first it was innocent conversation about writing and whatnot, but then they just began to get to know each other. This bloomed into a secretive three year relationship.

But wait, there’s more! This guy was married! Of course Gwen was iffy about continuing the relationship and they even tried to end it, multiple times. But they couldn’t stay away. Gwen fell hard and she thought he had too. That was until the Mrs. found out and basically threatened to get his job taken away for having an affair with a student. So he dumped Gwen and went on with his marriage, which absolutely destroyed her and she dropped her courses for a semester or two because of it.

I’m thinking now, that his wife and he finally divorced and he is basically coming back for Gwen. Or maybe they just randomly run into each other and it’s extremely awkward until he mentions he and his wife are over. I just think this would be a really fun plot because it can stir up some warm and fuzzies!

I’m not for finals, so don’t take him expecting that they are going to live happily ever after. Maybe, maybe not. The age can be anything over 30 as long as it agrees with the age limit in the rules. The face as I really love are JR Bourne or Darren McMullen, but again, I’m pretty open as long as you run it by me first. Name is open, history is open. PLEASE TAKE HIM!

TEN random things about you…

1. I am obsessed with pickles and peanut butter. And yes, I do mean together.

2. I never leave my place without my camera. It is ultimately attached to my hip.

3. My favorite color is, and always has been purple.

4. I binge eat glazed almonds on a daily basis.

5. I failed my driver’s test 7 times.

6. Sometimes, I will randomly take pictures of strangers. This isn’t always a good look and I have almost gotten beaten up for doing so.

7. I’m allergic to cats and dogs so I got two hairless rats named Dr. Seuss, and Waffle Cone.

8. I would rather cut off my left arm than handwash dishes.

9. I still have my stuffed tiger my brother got me when I was little.

10. I religiously watch Doctor Who, Black Sails, The Walking Dead, and Game of Thrones. Over, and over again.

NINE memories…

1. My brother’s friend throwing me into the pool when I was ten and my brother having to pull me out because I couldn’t swim.

2. Watching The Rains of Castamere (Red Wedding) episode of season three of Game of Thrones, and not being able to function for the rest of that night and the next day.

3. My father becoming mayor of Monroe and the after party where I first tried crème brûlée.

4. My first kiss with Scott, after a movie date. It was on my front porch and it was absolutely terrible. But it was very exciting at the time.

5. Waking up one night to my father and brother fighting about Landon wanting to go into the military. Then saying goodbye to him when he left to for training.

6. When I got a belly button piercing from a friend. It got infected and my parents inevitably found out about it. Safe to say I don’t have that anymore.

7. My first time with Scott. He planned it out and made it all cheesy and adorable. We went away to his parents cabin and it was all decked out with roses and chocolates. Definitely memorable.

8. Getting my first camera for Christmas, and breaking it the next week while trying to get an aerial shot of a flower bed.

9. Watching my mother officially open up her own charity all by herself, and seeing it grow over the years with her at the head.

EIGHT hobbies…

1. Photography

2. Writing

3. Exploring

4. Traveling

5. Reading

6. Show/Movie Marathons

7. Ice Skating

8. Talking

SEVEN accomplishments…

1. Stepping past my father’s pushing for me to be a lawyer and following my own path into photography. Even though he really wasn’t happy.

2. Graduating High School as one of the top ten students of my class, and not killing Jenna Turner for becoming Valedictorian.

3. Receiving my acceptance letter from Florida International University and waiting until I was alone to cry my eyes out.

4. Pushing myself through the difficult times, and worries with Landon being overseas.

5. Not falling into any bad crowds throughout my entire life. Of course I was tempted, and I did have my fair share of rebellious moments. But they were few and far between.

6. Getting hired for a local magazine as a photographer and column writer. Nothing big yet. Just the little blips about Miami hot spots, or fashion.

7. Not giving up, even though many people told me I wasn’t good enough.

SIX dislikes…

1. Cats.

2. Yogurt.

3. Snakes.

4. Snooty people.

5. Burnt bridges. (Metaphorically. Though I suppose real burnt bridges are pretty bad as well.)

6. Metal Music.

FIVE pictures…

1. My ideal evening.

2. My darlings. Aren’t they perfect?

3. This is my all-time bestest best friend. He’s pretty incredible.

4. A shot I took while at a friends house outside of the city. Too perfect not to capture.

5. This was taken for a piece in my magazine. Very powerful meaning and I’m extremely happy with the shot!
FOUR personal faults…

1. I quote movies and shows way too much, and then get upset if people don’t understand.

2. I often think before I speak, but under pressure, I can’t always help it and the word vomit flows.

3. I make very bad decisions when I drink. Which explains why I don’t drink that much.

4. I find that everything I do is a competition, even with my best friends. Sometimes I can get very competitive with seriously unreasonable things, and tend to flip out. The struggle is real.

THREE wishes…

1. I wish my brother can get over this PTSD and start living the life he deserves.

2. I wish my photography and writing could be featured on the cover of one of our magazines.

3. I wish I could have that fairytale love story where someone comes in and sweeps me off my feet.

TWO regrets…

1. Not always being there for my brother when he came home from being deployed. He was in Monroe and I was too busy in Miami to notice how much trouble he was really in. He was always there for me and I feel that I should have put my life on pause to be there for him. I just didn’t.

2. Having an affair with my married creative writing professor. Trust me, I am not the type to do this and if anyone was to find out they wouldn’t believe me. Which is probably a good thing. Anyway, the fling lasted almost a full three years until his wife found out. She found out it was a student and basically made a deal with him to either stop seeing said student or get reported and lose his job. Guess he loved his job more than me.

ONE motto…

1. ”If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” –Martin Luther King
